Genius Hours

TCA's After School Program

Come join the fun at TCA after school!! Open to all ages.  

 

Students will receive homework help, tutoring, and participate in STEM activities, National History Day, service projects, and enjoy time to create, communicate, problem – solve and collaborate. 

​

When:  Monday-Friday; 2:30pm-5pm; You can choose to come 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 times a week.

​

Cost:  $500 a semester (about $33 a week)

What is Genius Hours?

Genius Hours is an after school program held on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University at Tidewater Collegiate Academy (TCA) designed to give students a safe place to work on homework and participate in enrichment activities based on their passions and
interests.

​

What Can You Expect?

  • Transportation is provided from some local schools.

  • Students will be instructed on ways to become independent, metacognitive learners.

  • Students will be encouraged to develop as global citizens through service-learning activities.

  • Trained tutors for any subject are provided.

  • Snack is included.

  • Students will have time to play outside.

  • Students will have the opportunity to experience the VWU campus and activities.

  • Enrichment activities will help students develop 21st century skills including creativity, collaboration, communication, & critical thinking.
